Summary of solutions for errors during EMIF core generation

Introduction

Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition version 19.1 or later

• FATAL: Cannot generate IP in a Windows environment!
• Error: Execution of command "{<quartus_installation>/nios2eds/Nios II Command Shell.bat} make all 2>>> stderr.txt" failed

Note: Only WSL 1 is supported. Please note that WSL 2 is not supported.

• Error: border: Error during execution of script generate_hps_sdram.tcl: seq: Error during execution of "{C:/intelfpga/20.1/quartus/. /nios2eds/Nios II Command Shell.bat} make all 2>> stderr.txt": child process exited abnormally

Note that even if the above measures are taken, errors may still occur depending on the version of Windows® 10. In that case, please apply the following KDB patch in addition.

• nios2-elf-gcc.exe: error: CreateProcess: No such file or directory
