Hello, my name is Altera Hanako.
My name is Altera Hanako and I am a technical support engineer for Altera® FPGA products at Macnica.
Configuration is essential to make FPGAs work, but what do you do when it is not successful?
The pins involved in configuration are determined by the "target device family" and "mode of configuration. There is a "routine sequence" of signals that must be followed, and failure to follow this sequence will result in a failure.
The main configuration schemes for Altera® FPGAs are
Active Serial
- Active Parallel
- Passive Serial
- Passive Parallel
[Reference] Table of configuration schemes supported by each FPGA family
This time, we will focus on the Active Serial (AS) configuration among the configuration schemes.
Check with the Check Sheet
This checklist will help you to identify problems in the AS configuration of FPGAs.
[Target Device Families ]
Stratix® Series: Stratix® V, Stratix® IV
- Arria® Series: Arria® 10, Arria® V, Arria® II
- Cyclone® Series: Cyclone® 10, Cyclone® V, Cyclone® IV
