I am using a Cyclone® V SoC with Linux in a QSPI boot configuration. After changing the Kernel version to a recent version (4.14.73-ltsi), Read access to the QSPI Flash from Linux no longer works as expected.

The old version of the driver for QSPI Flash Controller implements the Read Data Cature Delay adjustment process similar to that of the Preloader, but the
4.14.73-ltsi driver does not seem to implement the adjustment process.


It seems that newer versions of the driver expect to get the Read Data Cature Delay setting as a parameter in the Device Tree, so it is recommended to add "cdns,read-delay = & lt;Delay value>" to the parameter of the QSPI Flash device in Device Tree and try it.
